Aunt Mary’s Molasses Cookies

preheat oven to 375 degrees

cook for 8-10 minutes

turn pan halfway through and use parchment paper

dry ingredients to mix together

2 1/4 cups of flour

1 t baking soda

1 1/2 t ground ginger

1/2 t cinnamon

1/2 t cloves

1/4 t allspice

1/4 t pepper plus some extra grinds

1/4 t salt

wet ingredients to beat until fluffy:

1 1/2 sticks of softened butter

1/3 c of dark brown sugar

1/3 c of granulated sugar

then add one egg yolk and 1 t of vanilla to butter mixture

then add one add 1/2 cup dark molasses

add butter mixture to flour mixture and don’t beat too much, just enough to combine well.

make little balls and roll them in granulated sugar and place on parchment paper.
